WSA weekly round up with the Digital team

At WSA, we are always busy with various projects and campaigns, and this week the Digital team has decided to share just what it is that has been keeping them busy within the agency and also share any interesting industry news that they’ve read up on .

Digital highlights from Austin Walters

Let’s kickstart with a strong and positive outlook on the past week from our Operations Director, Austin Walters: “Within the team, it continues to be fast-paced, hard work and challenging, but the ideas and the campaign results keep coming through. In the web and UX function, we’ve seen increases this week in requests for e-commerce, online booking solutions and multimedia. Off the back of several client projects that have been centred on online delivery of training and webinars, it looks like online activity is still being prioritised for many, with investment in e-commerce channels and digital services reflective of how the economy is edging towards re-opening, but retaining a tilt towards safer options including as online shopping and digital experiences .”

Web updates from WSA

Furthermore in the web department, our Senior Front-End developer, WSA shares industry news that she’s most excited for . “The second major WordPress update of the year, WordPress 5.5, is coming! This will include new features and improvements in the block editor, UI improvements, default WordPress XML sitemaps, a new block directory and much much more. Gutenberg was a big update for WordPress back in 2018 and we had to change our ways of working to adapt and make sure our clients were still getting the best solution for their websites, so hopefully, this new update will give us even more flexibility in what we can achieve for our clients!”

Organic social media success from Molly McCarthy

Digital Marketing Apprentice, Molly McCarthy shares what’s made her week: “Work for our social media clients has been booming and I have been enjoying working on evolving new social media campaigns for our clients. We have also worked on plans for WSA’s very own social media channels with further content in the works for our new Instagram profile (follow it here)”. Molly has also been keeping up to date with what’s new in the world of social media news and a particular piece about preparing content plans really helped to inspire her work. Take a read of it here.

PPC Wins from Laura Farnsworth

In the world of PPC advertising, it continues to be active. Laura Farnsworth, our Digital Marketing Executive shares her highlights from the week: “4 PPC proposals have been signed off this week, including new wins based off the back of successful past campaigns. It’s always great to have happy clients!”

A ‘purfect’ new team member

Finally, we would like to say a huge welcome to the newest member of the WSA fur family, Jasper! He has already established himself as the sleepiest and most relaxed animal in the team, living up to his Ragdoll name. Overall, we are ecstatic to welcome him aboard the team and hope to see him bringing in the clients and whizzing up the best social media campaigns in no time.

Jasper the cat

There is no doubt that the Digital team have all been occupied this week, with exciting organic social media and various PPC campaigns in the pipeline to increasing demands in the world of web.
