WSA were delighted to recently present the Art and Design Award at Milton Keynes College Student of the Year Awards 2019.
Held at The Sculpture Gallery, Woburn Abbey, this special evening recognises diversity and rewards students and staff who have showcased hard work, dedication, determination to succeed and enthusiasm for their subject. Award winners are chosen by fellow students from across Milton Keynes and beyond, with each nominee put forward by their tutors and classmates.
A fabulous dinner was provided by The Brassierie MK, AA College Restaurant of the Year for 2018, followed by stunning musical performances by students Precious Aijbola and Lucas Greenwood.
WSA Managing Director Jerry Taylor presented the Art and Design Award to Ryan Mills, who studies UAL Extended Diploma Graphic Design Level 3. Ryan produced exceptional creative ideas on his work experience placement and is set to achieve a distinction in his Final Major Project. Despite his shy nature, Ryan has overcome personal circumstances to find his voice and has proven he is a quietly ambitious and talented individual who is supportive of his peers. His development as an illustrator and animator has seen him offered places at every university he has applied to.
We are extremely impressed by the achievements of MK College students this year and the future looks very bright for the next generation of talent in Milton Keynes. All of the students nominated perfectly demonstrate the College’s diversity and values of inspiration, excellence, innovation, integrity and respect. We were thrilled to present the Art and Design Award to Ryan Mills and wish him the very best of luck in the next chapter of his budding career at Northampton University.
