In our latest New Starter blog post, we are pleased to introduce Luke Dillon – our new Digital Marketing Executive at WSA The Communications Agency. In his first blog post, Luke shares his career journey, how he has settled into WSA so far.
Over to you, Luke!
Describe your career journey to date
I originally had a background in sales and decided to move into marketing in 2019 by completing a Level 3 Apprenticeship. I have worked mainly within the healthcare sector, working for medical recruitment companies and a domiciliary home care company.
What have you enjoyed most about working at WSA so far?
The people have been really great and welcoming. Working for an agency has been a new experience and the team have really supported me throughout my first few weeks. I also really like the fast-paced nature of working within an agency. I love how varied the workload is.
What day-to-day activities do you undertake as part of your role?
Much of my role will be working directly under the Digital Marketing Manager and supporting them on tasks. My activities are mainly focused on social media campaigns. Whether it be creating organic daily posts for clients or running paid ads for them.
Why did you choose to join WSA Communications?
I very much wanted to surround myself with a set of dynamic creative people. This would allow me to get the best out of myself. With WSA Communications, being a full-service agency, I am surrounded by people with unique and different skillsets that I can learn from and also collaborate with.
What have you been working on since joining WSA?
Mainly accumulating knowledge on all our clients. I have also been working closely with our Marketing Manager on running paid campaigns and managing client socials.
What makes you smile?
My family and loved ones are very special to me. I have many hobbies and interests such as being outdoors, sandwiches, bodybuilding, boxing and NFL (Kansas City Chiefs)!
Name one fact that not many people know about you.
I have boxed with Northampton Amateur Boxing Club.
