Rural Enterprise Academy – Public Relations

Brief

To secure press coverage in key print and broadcast media, focused on raising awareness of Britain’s first dedicated land-based academy.

Response

The agency secured BBC Radio 4’s Farming Today programme to host its weekly roundup from the farm located on South Staffordshire College’s Rodbaston campus, where students from the Rural Enterprise Academy, which shares some of the facilities, turned the tables by interviewing the interviewer. The 20-minute programme provided listeners with an insight into the unique blend of academic and practical land-based education available to students at the academy.

Result

The programme was broadcast live on BBC Radio 4 at prime time to an audience of over 1 million listeners. During the programme, the presenter expressed her delight at what she saw during her visit, saying “what farming and agriculture mainly needs is people like you who are really enthusiastic and will tell others what a fantastic sector this is to work in.”
